Bitumen R85/25 is a hot applied adhesive material which is packed in sacks. Bitumen R 85/25 exhibits good resistance to thin acids, alkalis solutions and to various corrosive chemicals. It does not resist to oils.
USAGE
It is used for bonding bituminous membranes onto a substrate, for the filling of small defects in road constructions and for other industrial uses.
INSTRUCTIONS FOR USE
Surface preparation
The surface must be smooth, clean and dry, free from dust, oil, grease, debris and loose materials.
Application
Bitumen 85/25 is applied in liquid form after it has been heated in special containers so that is made workable.
Before the application of bitumen 85/25 it is advisable to cover the surface with EXTRALAC PRIMER which must be left to dry for at least 24 h
There are two ways for the application of bituminous waterproofing membranes using bitumen 85/25.
- The bitumen 85/25 is hot applied on the substrate and allowed to cool. Then the bituminous membrane is torched applied onto the surface.
-The bituminous membranes are applied performing pressure on bitumen 85/25 while it is still wet.
CONSUMPTION
The average consumption is 2.5 -3 kg/m² depending on the texture of the treated surface.
CLEANING
It can be achieved by means of gasoline, oil, or other appropriate solvent.
PRECAUTIONS
The product should applied in a well ventilated environment .Heating of the product must be carried out in a safe manner. For more information, please consult the relevant Material Safety Data Sheet.
STORAGE
The product must be stored in a cool environment away from sources of ignition. Its properties remain unchangeable for at least one year in normal storage conditions.
PACKAGING
The product is supplied in bags of 30 kg.
